Construction/ReStore Advisory Bob Swackhamer and Bill ZuckerThis committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm at the Firelands Habitat for Humanity office, 365 Main Street, Suite A, Huron, Ohio 44839. To coordinate labor, plans, materials and family interests to build the finished product, "a simple, decent house in a decent community for God's people in need." Church Relations Bill KrausThis committee meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 Broad Street, Monroeville, OH 44847. To cultivate Firelands Habitat For Humanity's relationship with local churches, seek Covenant Churches, and maintain ties to currently involved churches. Family SelectionThis committee meets the 1st Monday of each Month at the office of Firelands Habitat for Humanity, 365 Main Street, Suite A, Huron, OH 44839. The committee organizes and carries out application, interview, and selection processes. We find the families who fit the criteria of need for shelter, ability to make no-interest loan payments, and ability to partner with Habitat for Humanity. Family Support/Mentor Betty WhitacreWorks with families through sweat equity, home ownership education, home purchase process, adjustment to new responsibilities and continued partnership with the organization. The committee is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating this aspect of the program. DevelopmentTo raise sufficient money as determined by the Board of Directors to fund the needs of the organization in order that simple, decent, affordable housing can be built in partnership with partner families. This new committee is looking for intested people to join. Meetings are set up as needed at this time. Women Build Chris RafteryThis committee meets the 2nd Friday of each month at 5 pm at the Firelands Habitat for Humanity office, 365 Main Street, Suite A, Huron, OH 44839. To coordinate labor, plans, materials and family interests to build the finished product, "a simple, decent house in a decent community for God's people in need while empowering and teaching women." Office SupportThis group staffs the office, which provides coordination and support for the organization. Public RelationsMission: To continually improve the community's awareness of our work, recognize our participants, and encourage new donations of time and materials so more people have simple, affordable housing. Site SelectionIdentify potential sites, evaluate sites' availability and appropriateness, evaluate sites suitability for affiliate's basic house plans, develop a site acquisitions criteria policy for board approval, implement the board-approved site acquisition policy and maintain acquired sites. VolunteerRecruits, interviews, trains and coordinates volunteers to carry out Firelands Habitat For Humanity's mission in Erie and Huron Counties. |
